Hi
Don't know if this is where I'm supposed to introduce myself (or even
if I'm supposed to

) but I just thought I'd be polite and say hello.
I hope to pick up lots of tips about veg growing that I can use on my allotment !
Cheers

Hallo, Fat Andy, I do like your avatar! Is it you? I hope not.
Tell us where you are (by going to the Control Panel and putting in your details), then any advice you get might be more meaningful.

Hello Fat Andy and welcome. I LOVE your avatar!
I have recently alienated myself from a forum by choosing an avatar from the forum gallery which nobody else had used. I thought it was very funny, but no-one else had a sense of humour...
They are good bunch here though, and like a joke.

And they give good advice on growing stuff.

Hello Monika
I've done that now. I'm in Suffolk.
I've had my allotment for just over a year. Unfortunately, it was a weed infested nightmare when I took it on (some would say it still is

). I've cleared, dug, weeded, re-dug, re-weeded etc half the plot and I'm now on with the other half.
I've already planted a few bits & bobs this year but I'm running out of room until I clear a bit more.
I'll post some pics in due course.
Pongeroon, hi ! I'll be taking any and all advice I can get for my plot !! As for the jokes, the more (and ruder) the better.......
Cheers

Evening FA, and the warmest of welcomes, from probably the quietest member on the forum.
You should always get an answer, helpful or funny.
Glad you are getting to grips with your allotment, they can be a monumental battle for the first couple of years when they have been weed infested, but it does get easier.

There not a bad bunch when you get used to them, the first five years are the worst.

Thanks chaps. Nice to meet you all.
I'm a member of a few other gardening forums so I'm sure this one will be no different.......it'll take you a while to get used to me but you'll get there in the end

Ello Fat Andy. Welcome!

I joined this forum earlier this year wondering what to expect...now I feel as though I have made new friends...most of them seem mad as a biscuit like me

Brilliant people and good sound advice. Good luck with your allotment. Ours was like yours five years ago and all the hard graft has been well worth it. I love your avatar too. I still can't figure out how to put one on my profile

(still new to technology you see..) Cheers.

Hello Elaine & Grock
The "A" could relate to either, Grockie to be honest
Sprout wine sounds *ahem* interesting. Maybe I can offer you a snifter of my carrot whisky in return. I'll dig out the recipe and post it at some point but I warn you, it'll knock your socks off

I don't drink that often either. Only when there's a "Y" in the day
Oh, and not before 8. I can't be doing with it before breakfast.....
