Hi, Im going to put my salad seedling into my polytunnel this week and hope they carry on growing as well as they have in there plug trays. I was wondering if its ok to grow them in there when it starts getting hot or are they best left outdoors, also pak choi and rocket do they grow well in a polytunnel or are they best left outside?

the easy answere is to grow some inside and some outside and see which works best for you. i grow most of my salad insde with just a few oak leaf lettuce outside. inside you can keep picking something throughout the winter. ive found that most things will survive the heat provided the soil is damp enough to keep condensation on the plastic . i water the tunnel with an ordinary lawn sprinkler.. in mid summer it needs about an hours sprinkling twice a week. during the winter there's enough water in the ground to keep established salad leaves growing.
