May I make an appeal for the above. Donations can be made via the "RED CROSS "[UK] I am of the age and can remember the people of Australia just after WW11 sending food parcels to us, as food rationing was still on. [ {though we never got one.] but that's another story.

Thanks for letting us know about that. Am rather concerned about a old school friend of mine who lives in that region. I'm not exactly sure how close she is to the fires but she's not yet responded to my e-mail checking that she's OK.

I do hope she turns up OK, Primrose. Communications could be very difficult there anyway. I am actually in email correspondence with a fromer member of this forum who lives in Oz; if I can be of assistance [by contacting her to ask if she cqn make enquiries] let me know.

Thanks Mike. Have now learnt she's OK. I really hope the Australian police catch the arsonists. The physical and emotional damage they have caused is enormous.
