The shops and garden centres have already got seed potatoes in and I was looking for Sarpo Mira, but they did not have any, they are available on line at a much inflated price. I still have a half sack of very healthy specimens from last year. I know that there are risks of using my own seed, but, how great are these risks, and given the financial benefits, is it worth taking the risk, these potatoes were very successful last year in beating the blight that swarmed all over our plot, my Sarpo's were the only potatoes left standing way into August on our site.

Does anyone know of a good online supplier? Should I give my own seed a go, all views welcome.

Hi Compo. Looking online I found this site. The price seems fairly reasonable to me (I wouldn't pay T & M's prices!) http://www.alanromans.com/p-1892-sarpo-mira.aspx Cheers...freddy.

Not sure where you live Compo but if one of the Potato Days is on near you they always have them.

Yes OH, and thanks for everyone's advice, I got some from out local Garden Centre, half the price at one garden centre, compared to another.

The Alan Roman price is comparable but of course there is the postage, but what a potatoe they have been we still have about half a sack left, and they are standing up to the storage really well in the outside garden shed.....
