Went into a Poundstore for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Was hoping that diaries would have started being discounted for my garden plan but couldn't beat 4.99 until I got a nice Week-to-View for £1. Didn't spot they did seeds though, will have to go back!

Hi All,
Not having a £ shop near me can't compare notes but for the record we have a small Gardening Club here and Thompson & Morgan are really good in giving 50% discount for group orders. Don't even need to be affiliated or anything just a group of you getting together (six of us). It's well worth it and means that I feel I can experiment with varieties a bit and share with others.
Enjoy your shopping .................

i went into Woolworths (RIP) a couple of years ago and they were selling all that seasons seeds off really cheap, 10p a packet so i bought al of the things which i had never been brave enough to try before, like you say the cost makes it viable to experiment.
I have a question about gardening clubs - i've seen them mentioned on here a number of times but know very little about them. How do you find out where your local one is? do you have to have an allotment to join?
sorry if the questions are silly it's just its a whole new world for me

to find gardening clubs ask at the local garden centre, village shop., parish council. try google or a search on your council's website. something will turn up from one of them.

I and a couple of others in the village just started our own! I went on the RHS web site and they have a load of information and so does the society for allotment holders - you will be surprised just how many there are locally just ask around a few keen gardeners!
Good luck

I know some Forum friends don't like T&M but for those that do, they've got offers on their seed at the mo. For every packet you buy, you can have one of their new/trial seeds for 69p and for every two packets you can select from a range of free packets. On top of that, everything is half price, so I got 15 packets of seeds, many of them new this year, for £8.04!

Hi Tigger,
I know they do some good offers - I usually get the bulk of my seeds from them and then order a few more from other places just to keep my options open plus the fact I like to browse the catalogues and I always leave something of the shopping list!
Weather forecast awful for the next few days and just when the lighter evenings were starting to make me think spring wasn't far away. Put the seeds back in the packets for this week!
