Good morning all, Kleftiwallah here (a.k.a. Tony). "If I can make it, rather than buy it" that's my motto. (got to go and do the dusting, vacuuming and the kitchen floor needs washing)!Cheers,

Wecome to the forum Tony, my dusting, vacuming and kitchen floor needs washing too, but i'm going to leave it and do some planting, thats a lot more exciting.

Hi Tony,
I'm a new member here myself too and they're a friendly bunch on here with some great tips and years of experience.
Once you've done yours if you want to pop up to sunny sheffield and do my hoovering, dusting etc.....

OLD as my tongue and a bit older than my teeth as my old Dad used to say. 59 years old. Made redundant last May when Bowyers lay on their backs and kicked their legs in the air. As I'm suffering from type 2 (late onset) diabetes, and the present economic climate....you could call me an early retiree. Pity I do not have a huge Company pension!
Got the allotment 3-4 years ago as I've 'bummed' around the world care of H.M.t.Q. and never had the chance to garden, apart from trying in the back garden of a few married quarters.
Won quite a few 1st,2nd and 3rds at the Village Horticultural Show and Fete for my veg. Going down to the Town Hall tomorrow night to see if there is enough enthusiasm for a gardener's club in town. Cheers, Tony.

Out of interest I checked up on your forum name (Kleftiwallah) and it apparently means 'petty thief'. Does this mean we should all keep a very close eye on things when your around!!!

I have come across Kleftiwallah with reference to a house-boy (a man servant undertaking household duties), and a carrier (like a porter).
I remember these references from army life overseas.
