I knew once how to do that - now I've forgotten. Why can't I just upload the picture from my desktop?

I have the same problems, so have given up.
I am sure KGAdmin will let you know why we can't

Probably due to the larger amount of storage that would be used on the server if we all uploaded large piccies

There should be an 'Upload attachment' section under the post a reply area
2 boxes - one for the file (which will allow you to browse to it) and a second box for a caption.
If you click [Add the file] - a popup window will inform you it is uploading. Then the boxes empty.
NOW - you will see an
Attachments: section below the main message body - with an option to 'Place inline'

Well, I did it! But it was more than 1 mb, so the forum wouldn't let it in. never mind, I might find its URL one day and post that instead.
