My greenhouse is bulging at the seams with tomatoes, chillis, aubergines other delights and I need to make some space rapidly.

I have 10 x 40 cell trays of onion seedlings in there, can these be kicked out or will the cool weather and potential frosts cause them damage and or cause them to run to seed. The only outside protection will be a covering of fleece on cold nights.

I may be able to relocate some into my workshop which has south facing windows but not all of them.

Hi Piglet. Funny thing, today I moved my onions From the heated g/house down to the unheated tunnel. Could you not knock up one of those fleece "tunnel cloches" (that was shown here recntly with all the excellent pics, sorry to who ever it was that posted it I cant find the damn thing now i want it)to stand the onions under? I would try to give them some cover. ..paul.

I would try and harden them off by moving them outside for a few days or a week or two during the day to give you more space as well.

Move them back inside if a frost is likely.
