A Cancer Charity

To all my KG Forum friends:

As I have just been given the [provisional] all-clear by my consultant, I feel I can now launch my sponsorship drive. Please access the following Justgiving website and email the link to all your own family, friends and acquaintances. It is a good cause.

Forgive me if I repeat this email as a sort of reminder from time to time between now and August. Even if you may have taken action, others you will have emailed may forget.

Many thanks and best wishes for the season.
Mike

Mike - that's probably the best Christmas present you and your family could ever receive so I hope you all have a very happy one.
Will check out your charity after the Christmas rush has settled down.

Bren, please accept my very best wishes. As for me, I think my wife was far more worried and stressed than me. My tumour was a wimp, caught early and duly zapped. I'd like to be able to trumpet the advances and successes of modern radiotherapy, but I'm acutely conscious of the fact that I've got off very lightly in terms of the initial problem.

And thank you to the rest of you too. I wish you all joy for thefestive season and for next year at the very least.

Now, can anyone tell me how to send a PM in this new style website?

Dear Mike, i know this isn't the proper way, but if you find the persons name you want to P.M, either click on their name, or at the bottom of their reply is a little profile/P.M BOX.

It is the proper way OH

Alternatively you can click on the green bar at the top where it says "* new messages" but you will have to know the user name or search for the user name. With OH's way, the user name is automatically filled in for you so it's easier.

Thank you OH and all. I never saw that little green box. Perhaps because I'm going boss-eyed from too many exam papers or because I'm not very good at spotting or identifying icons.

Responses to the Justgiving site have been very encouraging so far. I hope you've all been enjoying the festive season.

Happy New Year

Hey, thanks OH! I was about to bring this to the top of the list this weekend; as I promised, I will remind people from time to time. I think the fund-raising has been going OK so far, but is now tailing off. I'll gee up my colleagues and there are others whom I have in mind, so I'm quite optimistic about coming close to target.

Wallace Cancer Care is in the process of updating their website, so please don't be put off if it's got some bewildering bits at the moment.

Best wishes to all of you
mike
