I have the opportunity to move to another plot on our allotment site. It is a bit bigger and in a better location. I hope to be able to negotiate keeping part of my existing plot until my overwintering crops mature. But if I can’t, do you think it is feasible to move my overwintering onions (Radar and Electric, both Sets) and broad beans (Super Acquadulce)? They are all coming along very nicely.

Provided you move the onions on a good lump of soil with all their roots intact the should be ok, the broad beans I'm less sure.

I've never known anyone move a whole crop before but if you are going to loose them its worth a try. I would remove them with a good root ball and replant straight away if you can. May set them back a little but if the weather is mild I don't see why not. It would be interesting to know if it can be done successfully. If not perhaps you could do a deal with the new plotholder. B. Beans could be potted up and planted out again in the Spring.

How about making friends with the incoming tennant and doing a deal so that you don't have to move them?
Crop-share?
Loan a bit of ground to them for a crop?
