How mad are the shops by you?

well considering we are supposed to be in the middle of a credit crunch,no one in Liverpool seems to be letting it affect them.I went into tescos the other day for bread and milk and had to wait 35 mins to be served.People must think there is a war on,their trollies were full to the top and some people even had 2 and 3 trollies,how mad is that.Isnt xmas just 1 day or have i got it wrong?and arnt the shops open on boxing day?

Dear Grock, i'm glad to say we have no such problems out here in the sticks.

I had to queue to get OUT of Sainsbury's car park yesterday, it's insane.
I refuse to buy as if the shops will be shut for a fortnight, they're only closed for two days for heaven's sake

DW and I, at DD's suggestion, recently signed up with Tesco's online shopping service. I'm no fan of Tesco's but this service of theirs gets the top marks. We can sit at home and click away at our shopping list, all the offers are there, then choose a 2 hour delivery slot and hey presto it all turns up on the kitchen table next day. DW just loves those polite delivery men! No hassle in the car park, no wobbly trolley, no mums and their screaming kids, no checkout queues and all for a few quid extra as delivery charge.

Have to agree with the Grock.........it's stupid here. I only buy what I need......it's only a roast dinner after all.
Plus, if you go to Tescos via the Quidco link you get cashback too. Think it's 7% at the moment which is a bonus.
If you haven't signed up to Quidco yet I would recommend it. I've been with them for several years and, each time I re-new car insurance and breakdown cover, I come out with about £70 in my pocket

seems to be the oposite round here, the shops are dead , i went to our local tesco sat mid morning, pleanty of space in the carpark and didnt have to wait for a checkout. had to go through the centre of Taunton in the afternoon and was surprised at how few people were about.
