I grew these this year on the basis that they looked so ugly on the packet, they were beautiful. I know that Chantal grew some as well - any opinions on the taste?
I don't think that I shall grow them again next year as I found they had a very earthy flavour, and weren't particularly pleasant. Even OH, who will usually scoff anything as long as it's cooked for him, commented that they weren't very nice.
A pity as they did look great, but one for the seed swap in the spring, I think.

I loved them Vivien and will grow them every year now. They were much less watery than normal courgettes, much more "meaty". I must say they tasted better when they were really quite small, but even larger where OK so long as the seeds were removed.

What I did like was their minimalist behaviour, they produced far fewer courgettes than the other plants which meant there was never a glut of them.

I will still grow normal sorts as I like a variety, so these, Jemmer and a green one as well will go in next year.

That sounds like the answer to most people's problems with courgettes
