When abroad on a Greek island self-catering holiday,the local supermarket always sell mis-shapen fruit &veg,and no-one objects to them including the Brits who have supposedly told our supermarket chains that we only want fruit&veg of uniform size& colour etc.
Strange that.
I have seen plenty of people buying sacks of potatoes from kerbside vans which are rumoured to be supermarket rejects(wrong size,shape)
