I know this topic has been covered before but two unusual red-leaved foliage plants I have indoors are smothered with the blighters. Leaves are dropping daily and a sticky substance is covering my window ledge. I've tried the yellow stickies and spraying with water under a showerhead without any success. Any last resort techniques I can try?

Sorry to hear of your whitefly problem. We suffer it here aswell on brassicas. I tjhink your plant on the window ledge if not for eating should be treated with a systemic pestiside as they feed by sucking sap and the sticky substance they secrete will attract sooty mould and in warmer weather ants. They are hardy little fellows/lasses and are difficult to get rid of. A quick visit to a garden centre should throw a couple of ideas.
good luck
