Hi all
Can anyone give me a recipe for "Stirrup Cup", please?

I may be wrong (it has been known!), but I think a stirrup cup is what the hunting fraternity drink when they meet prior to setting off for the day. It consists of whatever they choose to drink, surely?

I think a stirrup cup was originally a Scottish drink, but now refers to the drink at a meet before hunting, usually Port or Sherry.

A Stirrup cup is a particular type of cup, usually silver, that the hunting fraternity use for a final drink before the hunt moves off. They usually take the form of a fox or horses head, the unusual feature is that the cup does not have a stem or base, as they are meant to be passed from rider to rider. What goes in it is anyones guess, sloe gin or port most likely.
