We dont drink much milk in our house and I have a dairy allergy so can only drink skimmed milk. We ran out this morning and I nipped into Morrisons after getting some petrol (oh the price has dropped thank god but that's another topic) I bought a couple of things and then went through the check out. Then as I always do I checked my bill. A litre carton of long life milk 72 pence. I nearly fainted, I thought they had got it wrong so I went and checked. It was right. It is not that long ago that this milk was around 35-45p (I mean a few weeks) I know I might sound simple
but I cant see how they can justify putting the price of milk up to that extent. Even the fresh milk was 86 pence for the same amount. Sorry for the rant but I really object to such a price hike. At this rate I will be on black tea.
Hi Catherine,
I live in probably one of the most rural areas in the country and milk here is 99p for a 2 pint carton.
Because of the way this government has treated farming, and dairy farming in particular, dairy farms were going broke at the rate of 2 every day of the year last year. We now have to import 1,000,000 Litres of milk every day to keep the country supplied! Therein lies the basis of your fury!
