I'm back again

Well we have just come back from a week in Wales. We were just outside Builth Wells and the weather hasn't been too bad at all. We have had rain but we have managed to walk and mountain bike every day and only got wet on two days out of six
The rain seemed to go down the valley across from us and rained on us at night. We have had a very much needed wonderful break and the views from the cottage were to die for.
Our allotment has been looked after by several people on the plot and everything is okay though my aubergines are not getting anywhere, someone kindly left the PT open when it was sunny and closed it again at night. My new cabbage plants, which I did not have time to plant before we left, most have been eaten by caterpillars which must have hatched at the beginning of the week as they were outside under the cabbage netting. We have managed to eat two of my sweetcorn which were delightful
I hope that next week the weather keeps fine and then I can start tidying up the plot and putting it to bed for the winter
I do really hope that next year it is better or I might just give up because I cant afford to put all the drains in that we need to make the bottom half of the plot workable. We will just have to see. I might get rid of our pond in the garden and turn it into a veggie garden (over my OH's dead body as years ago he started digging the new pond and I said it was in the wrong place so he had to fill it in and re dig it in the right place>
