I don't know Innovation I always grow 'Ruby' from Marshalls and have good consistant results. This years crop has been exceptional but then I think it is because of the growing conditions. Wet.

Hi Nemo,
The question is do you suffer from club root on your growing area?
I suspect that the seed you have been given is Invitation which is a swede said to offer resistance to club root and powdery mildew. There is also another swede said to offer resistance to club root and powdery mildew which is Marian.
Invitation is a purple topped swede and grows to a very favourable size.

no i don't have club root in my soil thank god,as being Irish we tend to grow a lot of brassicas.my neighbours soil has club root and he offered me the seed his swedes seemed small.that's why i am dubious about growing the variety he gave me
