Some of my leeks are producing flower heads. In previous years I am sure that my leeks have not done this until the following spring. Why are they flowering this year?

Dear Melliff, some of the early planted leeks are doing the same on our allotments, i can ony put it down to the very odd weather conditions, so causing the plants to be stressed.

On an opposite, i have still got a few Spring Cabbages that have not gone to seed at all.

I was told last year when this happened that because the summer was so cold the leeks think this is year two and are thus seeding.

Some of mine have gone the same way this year too
