Why do or have any one else noticed that seed companies will descibe a variety as british bred in one catalogue, then the same variety described by another supplier will not mention british bred at all, for example Mr.fothergills will descibe CELERY VICTORIA as british but Thompson & Morgan do not? is there an explination?
I can remember Mr Fothergills a few years ago highlighting with a union jack flag to many varieties in the catalogue.

I think they are promoting seeds sourced from British farms as they are more likely to do well in our climate, whereas the same variety could be sourced from plants grown in warmer countries, ie not British bred and it may not do as well in this country.

Most items bought shew the country of origin, wonder why seeds don't.
