Oh what fun vegetable growing is. No sooner do my broadbeans look so healthy that people are commenting on what a lovely sight they are and then I start with Chocolate Spot. Seen it today. I planted some of my broad beans a bit close and now regret it as it has been so wet recently.
At this moment in time I am seriously thinking of giving in and giving up.
But there again maybe next year it wont be so bad. Would it help to remove every other one. I dont think that there is anything I can spray from what I have read on Google. Doesn't look like the weather is going to get any better and tonight I have switched on the central heating and am wearing a sweater. For G**s sake it is July. Am feeling really out of sorts sorry for moaning.
Catherine,
Don't give up. We all have our little ups and downs. As for chocolate spot I have tried giving beans more space to allow air to pass though but it doesn't seem to make any difference. It is i believe all down to what the weather is doing and I find the beans are still tasty. Any way good luck and keep smiling. cheers now

That's one of the main benefits of planting something in your garden. It teaches you not to give up.
I don't want to start about how much time it took me to get my roses growing.
The greatest gift of the garden is the restoration of the five senses. ~ Hanna Rion
