I would just like to say a big thank you to clive.
When i was going through a bit of a tough time earlier on in the year, Clive sent me a large packet of Pea seed named Radeo just to cheer me up, which i hasten to add certainly had the desired affect.
Well i had a funny feeling that good things were going to come out of them, and they certainly have.
As you hopefully can see from the two photos they are now up to seven feet and showing no let up in growing.
The peas are the ones behind the first lot of bamboos.
They are also loaded with flower and young peas, so in about a weeks time they will getting the taste test.
To me the peas are going to be known as Young Nicks peas, and will always be a lovely reminder.
I can't thank you enough Clive.
Just one thing Clive, will you be supplying a tall ladder so i can pick the top ones.

Hello Old H',
Thank you for posting up the good news of the Radio (Radeo?) Peas.

..we had been wondering how they were doing..but I had chickened out of enquiring.
Best I add some thanks too... to my Dad for saving and sorting of the Pea seed..and my Mum for walking up town to the post office with the parcel.
Below are clickable thumbnails of our row this year...
...on the left Radio (Radeo?)...on the right Early Onward
Meanwhile the 2 rows at work have suffered a bit due to a pigeon attack..but are fighting back...now they have a net thrown over the top.
I hope they come up to expectations when it comes to taste test.....try not to eat them all....save a few for seed.
All the best,
Clive.

Dear Clive, please do pass my thanks on to your Mum and Dad i really am grateful.
The row of peas make me smile every time i pass them.
I think there will just about be enough left over for seed.

OH, I felt quite sick looking at your runner beans, I am on my third sowing, 1st & 2nd rotted, my beans are about 18 inches high.

Dear Shallot Man, sorry to hear that your beans are struggling, i just seem to have a lot of luck when it comes to Runner Beans.
Dear Kevin, i will indeed keep you informed on how the peas taste, but if they taste half as good as they look they are going to be pretty impessive.

And thank you to...

..everyone else who sent me seeds over the past few months. I was especially pleased with varieties I hadn't grown before:
- Telegraph Peas (Mandylew)
- Land Cress (Mike Vogel)
- Texel Greens (Cevenol Jardin)
- Ragged Jack (Monika)
The Seed Swap shop has been really useful.

Well tomorrow is the proper taste test and i can't wait.
I have tried a couple of pods raw and they were sweet as sweet, something that has been lost by a lot of the modern varieties.
They are over eight feet tall now by the way.

They have been eaten and enjoyed, they certainly have stood the test of time.

Hello Old H',
Pleased to read you enjoyed the feed...
I took a few up to the Big House on Friday as part of the consignment of goodies in my wheelbarrow for the 10 guests staying this weekend...it was our Summer Fete day today.
At home today Dad managed to pick a few from his row..and shell them for the freezer. Plenty more to follow.
This variety does tend to creep up on you.

...not a ref' to becoming engulfed in Pea Vine

...but rather that they seem to fill quickly and not puff up the pods then eventually fill...
All the best,
Clive.

My only little concern about the peas is, i'm worried about any low flying aircraft getting caught in the top of them.

OH. During the last War, barrage balloons were quite successful.
