Cheeky devil!

I'm much in favour of wildlife and we do everything to encourage it at home, love to see all the stuff going on at the allotment, too.
However, I may have to revise this view after yesterday evening.
I was down on the plot, having picked some strawbs, raspberries and blackcurrants, and was busy watering. The allotment fox came wandering by and what a handsome fellow he is. I got a bit concerned as I thought he was about to scoff my soft fruit, but no, that was further up. Instead, he took a fancy to one of my nice, thorn proof leather gloves, took one in his mouth & trotted off with it, me chasing after. Foxy won and I now need either 1 right glove, or (more likely) a new pair. I'm not sure just what he thought they were, but I'll bet that glove is nowhere near as tasty as he thought it would be!
Harrumph!

Hi Vivien,
That is one of the funniest wildlife stories ever. As you say Cheeky Devil!

Foxes have taken gardening shoes from outside my backdoor in the past, I wonder if they are like magpies and cleptomaniacs, something to do with nesting or playing perhaps?

Foxes do of course have a particular realtionship with gloves

The Welsh name for the flower is Bysedd y cŵn (Dogs' fingers), so reckon yourself lucky it was just a fox and a glove
