Poor seed germination

I think this may be in the wrond section...if so i'm sure it will be moved which is fair enough.

Anyway, has anyone had poor seed germination. The French beans, peas, salads, beetroots and a few others have just not germinated. All were fresh packets and some were sown direct and others into seed trays.

Anyone else had similar problems or have I just been unlucky?

parsnip, beetroot and one lot of early nantes carrots were all noticably poor for me, one batch of lettuce and greyhound cabbage failed ,i think cos they were in a pot in the polytunnel which was getting rather warm the next batch somewhere cooler were fine.

Not wishing to brag, but everything's fine here in Rugby. I have been doing a lot of pregerminating though.
