Hi Folks
Not tried spring cabbage before, have been recommended Spring Hero but is it too early to sow it? Packet says June/ July but have been advised not to plant until August? Also - do I sow into trays or straight into the bed?:?

Hello Newbie
The advice you've been given is correct. Sowing spring cabbages too early can lead to lots of problems with the plants bolting early. I sow my spring greens towards the end of August for planting out September/October time but then I do live in a mild area. Where are you?

That should be OK, Newbie.
I guess the advice for August sowing that you've had was from someone in your area so go with that.
