Is it just me
The date of my Allotment Society's AGM is this Sunday
Father's Day 
please tell me that I am not alone in thinking that the Committee is out of order

Seems a little insensitive to me Kevin, hopefully a lot of Dad's will be out being spoilt by their families and a lot of Mums will be out on those trips too, so yes I agree, but it is probably an oversight, I would think.....

Dear Kevin, i do agree, there was little thought went into the date.
On the bright side, it could have been on Mothering Sunday, and i'm sure that would have caused a riot.

Father's Day is only something the Americans thought up to get people to spend money on cards and presents, the same as Mother's Day has been pinched from the church and commercialised. It is supposed to be the day you visit the church you were baptised in (I think), anyway, nothing to do with cards and flowers etc. So as I'm not trying to sell anything I don't see why you can't have the AGM or anything else on Sunday 15th July.
