ive been trimming some shrubs today with a pair i picked up in tesco last year when they were clearing the gardening stuff, i think they were about a quid, i shant worry to much if i hit a lurking bit of fencing wire or leave them in somebody's garden :D

I've tesco ones too, they really are perfectly useable. The adsa loppers are mighty buggers too, cut through huge branches with a bit of elbow grease!
Make sure you keep them well oiled, it makes life so much easier!

I bought yellow extendable handled loppers with an exchangeable hedge trimmer head from the LBS shop about two years ago. The hedge trimmer is excellent and it is handy to be able to extend it sometimes. I think it is the same one as currently on their site.
