Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post this query, but here goes.
I have acquired a rotating composter (sick of rats in my compost), but I am not sure how it works. I know you have to rotate the bin, but I have been told that the compost can be ready in 3-4 weeks to use. Does anyone out there have one, can they offer me any tips? Any feedback would be gratefully received.

I do know when they say compost will be ready in three to for weeks, you have to have all the material there ready in one shot and the right amount of dry and damp material as well.

I used to have one of these, and it was quite good, but three to four weeks is a bit optomistic. I would say 2-3 months. I used a mixture of grass clippings and rabbit bedding in mine and it composted well, however it does seem to come out in lumps a bit like furballs, probably the rolling around, if you wanted to plant into it it would take quite a lot of seiving.

A word of warning dont let it get too wet, those little holes in the bottom spray the gunge out as you are churning, its a stinky task. You are probably beginning to appreciate now why i said i used to have one
