beans and tomatoes?

I had an idea of planting one climbing bean variety 'yard long' in each growpot with each tomato in my greenhouse, so they could share the same cane, I had no sucess with these outdoors last year, but cant afford the space in my greenhouse to give them a planter each, what do people think?

If I were you I'd concentrate on the tomatoes and forget the beans. I certainly would not try to grow them topgether.

Tomatoes are quite greedy feeders and I would have thought that quite apart from that, they would take a lot of light away from the growing bean. I'm all for experimenting, so you could try just one pot with a bean and a tomato together and see what happens. I tried these beans outside last year on a south facing fence - they looked very impressive on the packet picture, but they were a disaster with the cold wet weather and reached the giddy height of six inches before just withering away. . As somebody on here previously said, they're really not suitable in our climate although I believe one person here did have some success and posted a photo of some grown in his greenhouse.
