I couldn't sleep this morning so I was up at 5.30am. I went up to the lottie to do some jobs, It was lovely and I sat on my bench watching the sun slowly rising.
I sprayed one of my beds for weeds, because we have both been unable to dig and the weeds have taken over. I emptied the polytunnel of cabbages and beans to start hardening them off and make more room. Now I am home have had my breakfast and a cup of coffee and am ready to face the day. What a lovely start to the day. It might get into a habit.

Hi Catherine,
Sound's lovely. I've always thought it is the best part of the day. I get up about that time every day and go for a long walk along the beach with the dog to get a paper and then back to face the day. Like you, I've cleared a lot out of the greenhouse already today, and am now ready for breakfast.
Will you last the day though?
Cheers, Parsons Jack.

Hi Parsons Jack, The beach sounds great. I hope I last for the rest of the day as I've got a very busy day today and am off to work now. Have a lovely day. Will you be working in the garden or going to work? I have tomorrow and all weekend to get some things in to the lottie. Hope the weather holds out.

Sounds great
For me it would have to be the evening to catch any sun on the allotment due to the slope and the trees.
(I'm also better in the evening than the morning)

Morning all
Glorious here too and I was at my lottie at 6:30am until 8pm when I suddenly realised the time and had to dash home. I've somehow also managed to put through a load of washing, have a shower, water two greenhouses plus the outside pots, put Tim's coffee on, feed Rosie and clean her litter tray and still got to work (on my bike) for 9pm.
I'm having a nice sit down with a cup of tea now, I'm worn out
Back to the lottie again tonight to work until sundown. I LOVE this time of year

That's amazing Chantal! Impressive stuff.
Nearly as good as Peggy Lee in 'I'm a WOMAN', she can

And have 'em hangin' out on the line.
I can starch and iron two dozen shirts
Before you can count from one to nine.
I can scoop up a great big dipper fulla lard
From the drippings can.
Throw it in the skillet, go out and do my shopping,
...be back before it melts in the pan."

Hi Catherine,
I work from home, so I can get out in the garden whenever I want. Trouble is, this weather, I don't get much work done
Cheers, Parsons Jack.

It's beautiful here today too.....according to the weather reort this morning Liverpool is the hottest place in the country.
Went to the lottie yesterday and got all those onions in, weeded my new garden and planted some perennials.
The seeds in the greenhouse have just gone beserk in the heat so I should be able to start harvesting the salads soon.....cos the price in the shops is disgusting. Theiving buggers.......
I'll go in half an hour and get the cabbage bed ready and start caning up the toms that I was given.
The strawberries are all in flower, the goosegogs have loads of bud, the fruit trees are all in blossom and the red and blak currents are laden down with very young fruit
I love this lottie business.......sitting in the sun, drinking tea and surveying my achievements.....you can't buy that
Roll on harvesting time

Well i over slept this morning, didn't arise until 5am.
I too am a morning person, it's just so peaceful and calm, until i start banging about that is.
And as for Lizzie getting those onions in, i'm having a job to control my emotions, i'm am really so pleased for you Lizzie.
I don't know how Chantal gets so much done in the mornings, i suppose it's all to do with being able to multi-task, something us men are incapable of doing.
Glad you are feeling better Catherine.

More like running around with a rocket up my a~$% when I looked at the time OH
I did relax more after I made the decision that possibly being 10 minutes late for work was better than losing 100 tomato plants 'cos I'd not watered them.

Thank you OH I am feeling much better. Thank you for asking. Just come back from the lottie, I was going to leave my cabbages out tonight but it is too windy and they are getting bashed about. Will have to plant them at the weekend. Now going to get a glass of wine and sit and relax in the garden before making our evening meal.
Well done Chatal getting thorough all those jobs before going to work. I think sometimes if you are against the time you can work more efficiently.

So Chantal, how did the BBC audition go?
Just when is it you take over from Katherine Tate as the sidekick?
6am to 8pm then in to work for 9pm and still go the lottie when you get home tonight, presumably allowing for an eight hour working day aroundabout 5am?
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.
