I know the weather chaps have been warning that it's going to get rather cold, but both metcheck AND the metoffice are predicting snow for Bournemouth tomorrow, and colder weather overnight on Monday - yikes!!!
I've just done a mad dash down to the lottie to fleece over my now blossoming victoria plum tree. Mind you, it was quite useful in that I now know I will have to prune the top off it this year, as little ol' me can't reach the top branch by quite a bit! The allotment committee are bound to have a nag if I don't.

Dear Vivien, it's turning a lot colder here now, but what a funny old year it's been so far.

I haven't got a lot in over the allotment yet this year, but i'll get there.

Another grand picture! We know it well, my son lives at the foot of it and thinks nothing of walking up to the top early in the morning and then starting work at 10am on his return, especially when the dotterels pass through in May!

Big dump of snow here since midnight, it must be 3" deep on the car roof. However, the roads are clear and I don't think it will be around for long unless the temperature suddenly drops.

I've just been reading April's KG and Jobs for the Month doesn't mention digging your way to the greenhouse to sow the cabbages

its just about white here , just enough to make the kids try to make a snowball, and me to think of hibernating . never mind the suns shining , it will soon be all gone.

It's all white here this morning, about three and a half inches of snow (just not to be out done by Chantal) and very pretty it looks as well.

Thick snow here too. Boy, am I glad that I covered those lettuce seedlings up with cloches! Can't remember when I last saw snow here in April.

Well, the excitement of it all! Woke up to a howling blizzard (by Bournemouth standards), snow actually covering the ground and settling at about 8.15 am. As I type, it's all gone, the sun is shining and you'd never know it had happened.
Mind you, the poor little birds are out in force now that the wind has dropped, stuffing their beaks at our well stocked bird table. Or at least, well stocked till the squirrels arrive.
Sadly no lottie time for me today, but I may make it to the greenhouse (which is now packed with seedlings, plug plants, etc). I'm contemplating making a sticky lemon cake to cheer myself up - the best excuse I'm likely to get!

Had snow here last night too, and it stuck which is unusual. It's snowing again now and it's cold enough to freeze the barnicles off a brass dinghy.....

Think i'll stay home and read my book. Got the April KG to have a read through too.

It's an afternoon for curling up in the old pj's and bobble hat me thinks, with some chocolate cake and a nice cuppa

I know Ingleborough well too. We used to have a caravan on the Bentham road. I'll have to re-visit again soon as it holds many happy memories.

We had our Plant Fair at work today...with much worry over the dire weather forecasts...but although just a bit chilly it has been dry and sunny all day...some fluffy snow clouds on the horizon...but they kept clear of us...
..So whoever organised this weather for us...thank you

Metcheck gives a rather gloomy forecast for the next ten days or so: snow, sleet, rain and certainly night temperatures below freezing. It was lovely and warm in the greenhouse today, though, with the sunshine!
