Now I've seen the ultimate in idiotic kitchen gadgetry - a strawberry slicer for £3.99 in the latest Lakeland catalogue. Who buys these things? Reminds me of the vegetable chopper I bought at a Ideal Home Exhibition 30 years ago which looked wonderful when being expertly demonstrated, but which rotted in my cupboard for years before finally disappearing in a car boot sale.

This reminds me of a programme on TV some months ago that listed the various 'must have' things that people had bought over the years and no longer used.
One was the Hostess Trolley.....I still see a lot of these about, all with ornaments on and used simply as a sideboard....does anyone still use the Hostess Trolley as it was designed to be used?

I am in my own little world, ...it's OK, ...they know me there!
I bought a juicer a few years ago but gave up using it because it was such a palaver to clean it! Took ages! And even when properly clean, the fruit juices had marked all the white plastic bits into a dirty grey. So we actually threw it away.

I must admit i'm not much of a gadget man, i just like to keep things simple.
Some of the best tools i've got are pretty old and proved the test of time.
