I successfully pre-germinated my parsnip seed. And potted into my collection of toilet roll inners. I have unfortunatly missed the advice of putting them in a cold room, and they are now leggy (about 3/4's of an inch.

Should i really scrap them and start again, or would putting them in my cold greenhouse make them slow down and catch up? There is room in the roll to top up with compost, would this be a option?

3/4 inch doesn't seem too bad - I would risk topping them up and, if you have seeds to spare, trying a second lot, just in case the others go horribly wrong.

I believe when planting leggy tomato seedlings it's quite ok to plant them almost with their seedling leaves resting on the soil, but I don't know if that would also go for parsnips.

That's exactly what i did, then put them out in the greenhouse. They are certainly still alive 4days later.

New seed now tucked up by the range.
