Yes, interesting isn't it.

However I would check whether they will only sell it in the complete advertised lengths (eg 100m or 200m) when it's second hand. I could be wrong, but that was the reply I had from one seller.

The new stuff is of course available in a variety of lengths, but I guess the second hand stuff has come back from a commercial grower so they may prefer not to have to handle it.

Of course, if you were clubbing together with some friends it might be a different matter.

Colin is right - it's only available in complete rolls of 100m or 200m. They don't cut it into smaller lengths because it will fray.
