Hi dispic,
It is possible that your seedlings are suffering from "damping off" [I've just checked the term by Googling "damping off". This is a fungal infection, generally caused by overwatering.
I have suffered to a small extent from this but not since reading somewhere that camaomile tea is a good remedy against it. I therefore make a large concoction of the stuff and keep it in an old drinks bottle [I use one of those mini-watering attachments which screw onto the bottle top]. I hardly lost a single seedling last year.
Hope this has been of use.
