I’m fed up, Gardeners’ World is not on tonight so I’ve got nothing to criticise them about. How I now miss that lovely programme and instead all they’re showing is snooker.

Bring back Monty, Joe, Carol and the gang.

They said last week that because of snooker there would be no GW this week. Sorry.

Bet Mr Swift was pleased, it will give him time to mow the couch grass.

He's actually quite poorly, so please don't criticise. He responded to messages on GW forum wondering where he was, and said that he has been unwell - he had peritonitis whilst filming 80 gardens, and nearly died. It seems he is taking some time off to regain his strength. I for one, hope he gets well soon. Still annoyed that snooker is more important than gardening though!

Dear Sarah, i think we would all wish him well, despite the leg pulling, none of us would want anyone being unwell.

Thanks for letting us know the situation.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I am sorry to learn of Monty’s recent poor health and also hope that he makes a speedy recovery. I enjoyed his 80 gardens series and his programmes encouraging youngsters with problems get on the straight and narrow by gardening. I wonder if this project is still running and with what long term success.

Barney, I have heard recently that the drug rehab project that Monty was involved in is still running. They are apparently located on a site that has a farm shop, workshops, small businesses etc, and that it is still being run by Rocky (who I saw doing his shopping in Malvern the other day).
