Great joke Geoff....i liked it :D

As for cars, I used to drive my mums 1980's Datsun Cherry which was a very reliable car.

My first one was a Fiat Puto which I had until last year whaen it eventually went to the Great Scap Heap in the Sky. It was very reliable and I loved that little car.

The one I have now is a Daewoo Tacuma 1.6L. Not a bad car but a bit heavy on the go-go juice. Wish i'd bought a deisel now. Never mind, maybe next time. It does what it says and is great for getting in pallets etc.

As for cookoos, been hearing them for about 2 weeks here, and the woodpeckers have been going beserk for about 2 months now. The squiggles are everywhere giving the poor old dog a right run around.

The trees are now starting to blossom and look so pretty.

Ahhh, nature, what a wonderful thing it is. It brings me such joy in springtime, my other favourite season next to autumn
Lots of love

I wonder how these people are doing today? It’s an odd things forums. You get to know one aspect of a persons life but their reality is far more nuanced and complex. I hope they are all doing well.

I have had a mixture of success and fails, I sum up the summer thus, I have not had to top up the wildlife pond or the water butts and have cut the grass almost every week. A first for all of those things in the past decade, but it has been a bit warmer and a lot less Harr rolling in off the sea.

Robo, my tomatoes are the same, only just been able to harvest a few last week, really late, they'll be over before they've started! Green beans had a nice big harvest 2 weeks ago, but nothing since. Chillies in the greenhouse are doing well, been picking them since July. Aubergines are just starting to crop, although there is one in the fridge, picked a few days ago that was the only early set fruit, the rest of the flowers did nothing. Cherry tomatoes in baskets are getting up to speed now, but again, so late. It's been an odd one this year. On a more positive note, our hedgehog is out and about most evenings. I hope he/she likes the house we built for him/her a couple of years ago. It is a nice fat fellow, so hoepfully will make it through another winter.

Dry morning as forecast but it was pretty soggy, so had to stay on Plot 2, so still haven't got the spuds up. Not optimistic many will be in good enough condition to store now though as there is an abundance of slugs around. Harvested all the sweetcorn which was a disappointment as all but about 3 were those mixed kernel pale colours which I am sure I did not buy as I've had them before & they aren't very flavoursome so don't know what went on there, but I'm sure will be OK as soup. But that bed is empty, weeded, lightly dug & fed ready for the Chinese crops which I planned to sow but I was enjoying the weeding - not the amount mind, but got another 4 beds done as well as it was really easy to pull the weeds up!

Did a bit of general tidying, putting things back where they should be as I've been driving my self mad walking around looking for where I left things. That was about it, not too much energy expended but visibility looking tidier. Tonight & tomorrow we have another warning that heavy rain is expected but improving after this although temp dropping a couple of degrees.
