Not at work but on call. Bound to be contacted as it's the busiest weekend of the year for the NHS. Even though I've now moved to Social Services (new job in December), it's our lot that help to discharge folk so there's bound to be an argument about blocked beds soemtime over the Bank Holiday.

Doesn't stop me gardening though! Hoping to get a fair bit done this weekend and possibly a bit of sewing if it rains. I need some new creations for the summer.

Interesting what you said about the busiest weekend of the year for the NHS, Tigger. I've just got back to base from the hospital and the A&E dept is heaving, and short staffed.

Went to the beach with Dog, Big and Little Andrew. The waves were really rather magnificent and there were some "sane" people windsurfing and doing that thing with the large kites, that are tied around the waist and you're hauled along the water

Looked good fun but not for me. Not good with water.

There were some very brave ships going out to the Irish Sea. The waves were around 15ft high and very strong. Just my thing, a stormy beach in winter.

Will go to the lottie tomorrow and do a bit there. Got a load of stuff needs burning which will occupy my Pyromaniac tendancies for a while

Will do some digging (depending on back) and possible sow some stuff. I might lose it all but I have some fleece to cover it over and some newspapers.

Now.....where did I leave the parrafin
Lots of love

All hospitals were told by the DH to increase their staffing this weekend Pongeroon and every PCT Chief Exec had to submit a detailed plan, across Health, Social Services and the independent sector, about what their 'patch' had agreed to do to meet demand. So as well as extra staff in the hospitals, we've increased our community services, stocked up on equipment, put GPs into A&E to triage people, pre-booked a number or nursing and residential placements and a whole host of other things.

I'm a bit nervous of going into my greenhouse as it's very windy, the fir trees are bending right over and with the wind direction as it is, if one of them goes, I'll be covered in broken glass, flattened and one of Tigger's statistics

Worse still, I'd lose all my plants! I can't imagine my insurance company replacing a load of leeks and onions etc.

Dearest Herby

There were no big bouys on the beach.......just a few full barrels of Guiness that had come ashore. A few kind soles were taking them back to the mainland, although I doubt they'll never see Irelands fair shores again (or the taxmans cut)
Lots of love

Be afraid, be very afraid.

If a white breadvan with blue lights and driven by men in white coats turns up on your drive.....

... I've heard tell Tigger does a very nice line in warm cosy rooms with soft walls!.
