Hi there. I want to grow some figs this year, and believe it is possible to do so in a pot(i have no room left in my fruit patch) can anyone advise as to best variety, position etc please?

my father got one at a boot sale summer before last, its now in a large (about 2ft dia) pot in his conservatory. he had fruit off it last year and there are about a dozen wee ones on it at the moment which will mature this summer. the pot is stood in the cut off end of a blue plastic barrel so is always sitting in about an inch of water. i have no idea what variety it is .

We've got 2 Brown Turkey figs in pots outside. I wrap them in fleece during the winter. I can measure them, but I suppose they are about 3' diameter.
