Broad Beans

We had a lovely crop of Broad Beans about a foot high been in since Oct/ Nov looked today and random plants have flowers dying at the bottom and somw the base of the stems have turned brown and are dying fast. Sounds silly but all the stems have like a silvery tracing over them and I can`t remember if this is the normal, the silver I mean. Can anyone tell me what is wrong.

Sounds like slug or snail trails.
