I've started this new topic of bits and bobs, just incase people have something to say but don't want to go to the trouble of starting a new topic.

Now it doesn't matter what goes in, it could be something that makes you smile, or something that makes you annoyed, or any other thing at all.

Well i will start it off with a slightly annoying one. I was bought a square edged bar of soap for Christmas, and i have to say it is very unpleasing on the hands and other places. but as i was brought up to waste nothing, i will be glad when it's gone.

I hope others will find things to add. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

That reminds me of the old joke:

Two nuns in the bath,
One says: wheres the soap
other one says: Yes it does doesnt it

They say the old ones are the best...

You could always bung it in a bowl in a pan of hot water OH, then melt it down and reshape it to something which suits your orifices rather better  Or shave the edges off.

Just a thought or two.

When i said i hope others find things to add, i didn't really mean about my soap shape. :)

But thanks for your thoughts.

You did say, "any other thing at all", OH:

Well, we had a thunderstorm tonight, with hail, sleet, rain and some terrific gusts of wind. Wasn't at all funny and the lights kept flickering, but so far so good.

We could do with some lovely crisp winter weather now, not this damp, dark and dingy lot.

I have just spent ten days decorating the hall in our bugnalow, new doors, ceiling, radiator and a ceramic tiled floor. The tile adhesive, which I guesss is a posh mortar mix with extra adhesive in it, was murder on my hands, so much so that my little finger tips were red raw and bleeding I guess the sand in the mix must have been extra sharp.

Several days on however the room is looking good, and the grouting was carried out with some natty blue latex gloves which certainly helped the lil ole pinkies. On the negative front I had a week off work and hardly saw the plot except to pick a cabbage or two, never mind there is always the weekend if it is fair.......not holding my breath though!!

PS OH try liquid soap!!

Dear Monika, thats just the sort of thing i meant.
Not something one would start a new thread for, but nice to share it with others. :)

Dear Compo, bet the hall looks quite stunning now.

Wish i hadn't mentioned the soap now. :)

Yes Monika pretty nasty last night, hail not all melted this morning. On the bright side we now have a trampoline in the drive but I guess the neighbours will collect it when the wind drops. Luckily we are not planning to go out today.

Hello OH
The size of my TBR book pile is something of a joke in the family. Its got a bit smaller as I've just finished reading your book - 'Old Herbaceous'. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was difficult to put down once I'd started. What a charming, interesting old character you are (Did I already know that from forum?). How do you manage to get those dazzling early strawberries?
Also I now know your real name!

Dear John, i have to agree it is a charming book.
Funny old name Pinnegar, but there you have it. :)

As for the strawberries, it's just another one of my secrets.

Anyway, to get back to things soapy...I am currently using a well-known brand of shower gel which is mint scented. I don't like the smell, but I do like the tingly sensation in the delicate areas... :D

Too much soap on your "Bits and Bobs" OH

I'm going to the garden centre on Saturday to plan my first year through the medium of seeds, I'm quite excited in a sad sort of way. I must get out more.
