Exmoor Ponies

This afternoon the sun was shining but a cold wind was blowing so I wrapped myself up warm and went for a walk to Cothelstone hill where I came across a small herd of Exmoor ponies.
These ponies are pure breed Exmoor and are the descendants of the native indigenous British wild horse that is preserved in its aboriginal state from the earliest times to the present day. The ponies are extremely hardy and survive the hard winters of the moors.
