Exmoor Ponies

This afternoon the sun was shining but a cold wind was blowing so I wrapped myself up warm and went for a walk to Cothelstone hill where I came across a small herd of Exmoor ponies.

These ponies are pure breed Exmoor and are the descendants of the native indigenous British wild horse that is preserved in its aboriginal state from the earliest times to the present day. The ponies are extremely hardy and survive the hard winters of the moors.

It's a nice spot Barney we go up there from time to time, views are for miles and are spectacular. Have you been to the cafe, also highly recommended. Nice to know we have trod the same ground. Lovely pics and the facts about the ponies
