Hi there, I am disposing of a 20 year old pampass grass. Underneath the new and newish growth in the base is loads of broken down brown fibrous material. Will this be ok as a mulch for soft fruit and/or adding to homemade compost?

Dear Brooklynodog, yes it will be fine on both counts, just keep your eyes open for snails and their eggs though, and dispose of them as you wish if their are any.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
