Goodmorning all! I may be teaching granny to suck egg's literally, But here goes! A reliable way of keeping your chicken's worm free is to add a couple of drop's of malt vinegar to there water every couple of week's. This tip was passed to me by ancient French local's that have kept chicken's since the 1st egg! :D

I've heard that cider vinegar keeps them worm free, so I suppose it is the vinegar rather than which kind that works.

I thought you would use the crushed garlic cure living in France. Although I do wonder if it flavours the eggs. It would be OK for savoury dishes though.

I used to feed my girls all sorts of stuff, including spaghetti with garlic and yes, it did affect the eggs. It wasn't so much of a taste, just a slight whiff of garlic when the shell was broken. It did occur to me if I could feed the chickens on garlic, cheese, onions etc I could perhaps produce an omlette in a shell :D

I kid you not, But our girl's get all our left overs until the pigs arrive in spring. On several occassions we have made a vat of vindaloo and the left overs have gone to the girls, resulting in spicey egg's:

Not quite the same topic, but Dad used to feed the rabbits with herbs - sage and thyme etc, with the ulterior motive of making them taste more flavoursome for the pot.
