Dear All -
been off the chat - busy busy - since before Christmas but all those allotment chores are piling up.
Does anyone know of a good/cheap source of outdoor noticeboards? Our main one has suffered a fatal calamity and the price of them in Staples catalogue nearly make me choke on my cheese on toast. (£330 for a tidler). I've already asked the Council if they can give us one but you know what Councils are like.

Someone on our site has made one for us and as it's mainly recycled bits and pieces it's at minimal cost. Do you have anyone handy with the woodwork at your site?

We got a grant from BAA-Stanstead and our association has bought thirteen noticeboards from http://www.gpsigns.co.uk/notice_boards.htm
But remember with these as well as the proper noticeboard you will need two seven foot long 3" square wooden posts, two or three bags or postcrete, a rectangle of 1" exterior quality plywood, wood treatment (sadolin) and all the carriage bolts, screws and spikey washers etc need to fix it all together.

I am fortunate in that I have a post hole auger, one-peter-power, by spade, trowel and iron bar will do it, but slower. :D

gosh - we are looking at investing in nearly 80 x 'proper' notice boards for sites. Hadn't got as far as looking at the price but its on the 'action plan' Mind you, not quite as dear as I had imagined...

Approximate prices.

Hi Guilia

What sized signs are you looking for? What does the text have to say? We use a company who supply us with farm signs, vehicle signs, display signs, general signs etc. They manufacture them on rigid plastic so are strong and weatherproof and you can determine your own text. If you let me know i can get you some prices.
