Hi all

First time growing Tumbling Tom, they are still in 3" pots on the g-house bench but have come into flower - proper open flowers. I have frost proof heating.

Could anyone advise me what to do with them as I'm guessing there isnt enough root or sun to produce decent fruits.

Thanks

David

What were you intending to do with them? In flower in 3" pots in a heated greenhouse is just right for putting in final pots or grow bags. No problem with light levels. I don't know this variety but I have Latah with fruit over ½" and several other varieties with flowers just setting in their final positions (growing rings on top of grow bags) and they are quite happy.

Thanks Geoff, Good question, I think I was intending to put them in hanging baskets or those pouches that hang on the wall - just wasnt expecting to make that decision just yet. Thanks for the reassurance.

Hi David,
With Tumbling Tom you could plant into the hanging basket right now and hang them in your greenhouse and when the weather is more favourable simply hang them out. By then you should have harvested quite a few tomatoes but I do not see that as a disadvantage more the opposite.
