I received a copy of a 'planting by the moon' book for Christmas and am trying to keep an open mind about it.

Does anyone have any experience on using these sorts of theories? Do they actually work?!!

Thanks

Hello Cat

If there was any true benefit in planting by the moon then it begs the question – why don’t all the commercial growers plant by the moon?

I've been given the book as well, obviously the neighbours haven't read my posts about lunacy. I suppose I could use it under the Runner Beans, about the only way I can see it contributing anything useful.

I must admit, I am sceptical. However, given I have the book, I will try to use some of the advice and see if it makes any difference. But I'm not going to get stressed out if I miss the 'correct' time for planting/harvesting! :D

I've always been rather sceptical about this, and don't always know what day it is, never mind what phase of the moon, but my father used to use it for the best time to sow seeds and thought it worked.
