Flee beetles

Just browsing through January's magazine trying to take my mind off all the things I ought to be doing, when I saw a picture of a 'flee beetle' on P.35. I've never heard of them before. Are they so fast you can't ever actually see them, or maybe just very timid?!

They're flea beetles - they jump - and eat brasica seedlings

Dear Granny, i have a big problem with these little critters at my allotments.
They are very troublesome to the brassica family, while they are at an early stage.
They are quite small, but you can see them on the small leaves, before you get to close and they ping off to safety.

I know about flea beetles - look at the spelling on the caption on P.35.
