Does anyone know if any of the better brands of hedge trimmer manufacturers, make a 12 inch/ 300mm petrol model.

I think one of these would be ideal for trimming the ever increasing amount of topiary i seem to be trimming these days.

On e-bay there are often the Ryobi multi-function strimmer which can have a short hedge trimmer instead of the strimming bit, also a small rotovator attachement.

I had better not get a rotovator attachment though, i could imagine the look of horror on my customers faces as i turned up to do their prized topiary.

i cant recall seeing much less than 18 inch blade length on a petrol trimmer, all the tiny ones seem to be cordless, which i wouldnt touch , batteriees allways seem to go flat when im using them , had you considered a mains electric one, the client supplies the fuel then i no longer have a petrol trimmer or chainsaw i use electric. 2.5 mm extension leads are good for at least a hundred feet from a socket. i do have a diesel jenny for anything further away and red diesel is a fraction of the price of petrol
re the ryobi split shaft strimmers with attachments, they also do a range of electric power units upto a kilowatt so you can end up with a choice of petrol or electric power units with stimmer, pole saw, trimmer, cultivator,etc attachments all of which will fit on the wheelbarrow

Good morning Richard, thankyou for your ideas, if it's down the electric route, it will have to be a generator as a couple of the gardens are huge, and a long way away from a power source.
But i've never owned a generator before so thats quite exciting in itself.
