Seed catalogues

Just thought I would introduce a new topic because I have just been ordering our seeds for 2008 from four different seed catalogues which took ages, not least because all the seed firms seem to ask for different information in a different order on their order forms: page number, code number, variety name, quantity required, unit price, total price ......

I wish they could agree on a common format because I can't be the only person who orders from different catalogues.

Dear Monika, i'm glad it's not just me that finds the different form format annoying, it nearly makes me grumpy and that will never do.

I've been very brave, and been trying to order online, but i've got in a right old pickle, theres no telling what will arrive. :)

Hello Monika
I always found those order forms a real pain in the **** with their small boxes, different sections, sub-totals, various postage/delivery options - they just go on and on.
I only ever order online now as its so much quicker and easier. A big advantage is that you can see on their order site if anything is not available so you don't get sent any substitutes. Also you often get an email when stuff is dispatched so that you can look out for it.

I agree with you all. I hate the forms and only order online these days.

The last time I used an order form I didn't receive some parsnips but was sent four extra packets of lettuce seeds. No explanation. Why? :?

Apart from my order to the allotment store I have done all my ordering from 4 different seed companies on line this week. First Order from Kings arrived this morning. All so easy I shall definitly do it again.

Spotted and advert for http://www.eseeds.com/ - anybody used them? Looks like a way of using several suppliers in one online transaction.

I had a quick look Geoff and randomly selected veg and flower seeds. Most popular brands such as Kings appeared to be 'out of stock'. How long for it doesn't say.
It would be interesting to hear from anyone that has acutally ordered.

Hi Beryl and Geoff,
I thought the same as you Beryl. Then I noticed that the free delivery offer only ran from 1st September 2006 to 31st August 2007 so perhaps it's no longer functional.I have contacted them by e-mail and will let you know the answer.
Regards, Gerry.
